In 2006 Glen Helfand was invited to be a guest curator at Mills College Art Museum. He chose “Particulate Matter” as his theme, and highlighted contemporary work that is formed from an accumulation of small, discreet parts, either chaotic or organized. The design uses its own accumulation of particles, both sharp and hazy, to build its visual vocabulary.
