ESPN: THE FANSOURCED ISSUE
ESPN: The Magazine Collage illustration for “Fansourced!” issue.
I think the ESPN art director did a nice job of integrating my work in with the issue's design language.This is how it appears online and in print.
This is the original final artwork. Note how I left indications of the hand and materials used in place. The shadows were all created in camera by adjusting the actual collage pieces in front of the light source.
This is an alternate version which I really liked since it added a strange new level of participation for the fans. But you can see how it would have interfered with the design elements that had to be added later in production.
I created this collage illustration for the latest issue of ESPN: The Magazine. All of it was put together by hand, lit and photographed in my studio.A great, fun project!
